Jonathan Trott’s return to international cricket will take another step forward with his expected inclusion in the England Lions squad next week.
Trott, 33, has not played for England at any level since leaving the Ashes tour last November, following the team’s defeat in the first Test at the Gabba, with a stress-related illness.
Hopefully for the Lions Mr. Trott hasn't accumulated any rust since his layoff due to injury. It can be hard to fully recover at his age. Wouldn't you agree? ::
By all means have him on the A Tour as the senior pro but I think he should now focus on his Warwicks career.
If he continues with his good form and one of the younger lads are injured during a home series he can be a consideration but, personally, the ECB should move on.
What is the point of bringing Trott back into the England set-up. Two of the main bully-boys Anderson and Broad, who caused his breakdown are still THERE.

If he does well with the Lions, then shows good form in county cricket he should be ready for a Test recall in the second half of next summer.
Not sure if we'll see him play for England again though. England are investing in the likes of Ballance, Root and Ali at the moment, plus there's the likes of Stokes, Taylor, Hales and Lyth not in the current Test XI.
Unless they make Trott play as an opener to replace Robson, which is unlikely.
For ODIs, we oddly miss his steady scoring. He was reliable. But there's no way you can fit him back into the team whilst Cook, Bell and Root are also there.
Good news. Nice to see him given a chance to play for England. It's important for the game, especially younger players, to show that Trott's problems are not a barrier, just a hurdle. Hopefully his return will encourage players to seek help without fear of damaging their careers. Best of luck to him and all those who share a similar problem

I agree. It's good to see Trott back involved in the England setup but there are too many younger middle order batsman that are ahead of him in the pecking order. I would much rather see the youngsters be given a chance to see what that they can do.
