JFK : 50th

                   

The US is marking 50 years since President John F Kennedy was killed by an assassin's bullet

in Dallas, Texas.

He is remembered for ordering one of the most disastrous episodes of the Cold War :

The failed Bay of Pigs invasion of communist Cuba :

by a CIA-trained paramilitary force of Cuban exile ~

He is also commemorated for his youthful vigour  and his challenge to America :

to put a man on the Moon.

Two of his brothers later served as US senators and ran for president.

Robert was also assassinated in 1968.

Edward died in 2009 and was a champion of universal healthcare.

His daughter Caroline is now the US ambassador to Japan.

His wife Jackie is a distant memory  :-[

yeah, the man is a gem.  ;D

He was going to abolish the Federal Reserve taking money making ability away from the private bankers who control it.

He gets a lot of credit for putting a man on the moon.  He started the race for that.

Irishman .....US made him into a Monarchy !
