Manna Dey: Legendary Indian singer dies

Manna Dey's was a unique, brilliant voice. Laaga Chunri Mein Daag was my favourite Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli a close send. RIP

Indian singer Manna Dey has died in a Bangalore hospital at the age of 94.
Dey had been ill for the past few months and was in hospital for a respiratory infection. His funeral is due to take place later on Thursday.
Born Prabodh Chandra Dey in 1919, Dey was popularly known as Manna, and was credited with several hit Bollywood songs.
He sang in several languages including Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi and Bhojpuri.

His most popular numbers included Zindagi kaisi hai paheli (Life, what a riddle it is) from Anand

Poocho na kaise maine raen bitayee (Don't ask how I spent my night) from Meri Surat Teri Aankhen

Ek chatur naar (A clever woman) from Padosan;

Eey bhai zara dekh ke chalo (Oh brother, look where you're going) from Meraa Naam Joker.

....i didn't even know that he was still alive.

RIP Manna Dey - through your music you brought and will continue to bring joy to millions!

my hubby can immediately recognize the voices of all of the older singers.....and lots of the new ones also!  he is a true Indian music lover!!
