The uncapped Sheldon Cotterrell is eager to justify selection, ahead of the West Indies' tour of India later this year.

Cotterrell enjoyed a solid stretch of form for the A side against their Sri Lanka counterparts and the Antigua Hawksbills in the Caribbean Premier League recently.

The left-arm seamer has effectively replaced fast bowler Shannon Gabriel, whose performance against Zimbabwe earlier this year was not good enough to gain reselection.

"I am really looking forward to going to India and playing, as with my pace, aggression and accuracy, I know I can take wickets", said Cotterrell.

Then we wait and see. Things have a funny way of turning out sometimes.

Look at that regional record. Pace with no accuracy is nothing. I've seen him play regional cricket and he is not there yet. Good prospect though.

#5
India pitches will injure him.

He has to bend his back on those Dust bowls :

to generate any kind of fearsome paceย  !

Clearly we will all wish him the best but this is a typical move to devalue the colours.
Lads do not have to play their rocks off to get there.
There is something in the argument of Narine's Test spot and given the pitches in India he would have been or could have been brilliant as he was against the Kiwis.
I am surprised Rampaul has been overlooked especially as the ineffective Best is in the squad, never mind Sammy.
I thought Cotterrell was injured.

maybe he has recovered

Newcomer to the senior West Indies cricket team, Sheldon Cotterell is to undergo a medical examination tomorrow which would decide if he travels with the regional side for its upcoming tour of India.
