Canada opens new visa applicaiton centre in Trinidad

OTTAWA, Canada, Sept 12, CMC – The Government of Canada has announced the opening of a new visa application centre (VAC) in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, making the process of applying for a visa to enter Canada “easier and more convenient.”
The Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has announced plans to expand its VAC network around the world to provide administrative support to applicants before, during and after their temporary resident application is assessed by a CIC immigration officer.
According to a release, VAC service agents are available by phone, email or in person to answer questions in local languages and to make sure that applications are complete.
“It is important to note that VACs are not involved in the decision-making process and are not authorized to provide applicants with advice about their visas,” the statement said.

I've notice they are handing out visitors visas to Guyanese like flyers these days.

One of my friends who practices Immigration law says it's because of new stats which show immigration from Guyana declining and that most Guyanese who come here to visit actually return.

Also refugee claims from Guyana are at an all time low. :o

[/quote]  US visa is handed out to Guyanese with almost no question asked .  I  am told that every one from the village that  I came from has a 5 or 10 year US visitor visa

[/quote]  Most do not stay long as they cannot find jobs and after a while relatives who they stays with gets fed up with them and they leave for home . The  American dream seems to be fading fast

That's right Kwami.  The novelity of living abroad has worn off.  The advent of the internet and mass communication Guyanese people today know how hard life really is in North America.

Times have changed Veebs.  Those days where people would do anything to escape Guyana are pretty much over.

This summer I had 4 different sets of relatives who came for vacation.  They all got 4-5 years visitors visas.  And yes, all went back to Guyana after their vacation ended. 8)

In fact, one of my aunts said she has seen Canada and has no interest in coming back. ::LOL::

Rani gonna have a problem bringing back a newly minted hubby .
