WEB NASTERS' COMMENT:
Quote:Unfortunately, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov is incorrect in his assessment.

The reason for the Israeli government's hubristic brinksmanship here is their sure and certain belief that they have a lock on all the US's military capabilities, and our military personnel.

IF Israel goes after any Russian asset, this will be tantamount to a declaration of war against Russia; this means that the US may well be at war with Russia shortly after such an incident takes place.

Representative Charlie Rangel has proposed legislation to re-institute the draft this year; such a blowup between Russia, the US, and Israel over Syria may well see that legislation passed, and quickly.

But even if it does pass, given the current condition of the US government and military, the US government does not have the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war.

And that is where the danger truly lies: if the US government realizes that they are losing in a conventional war scenario, it may go to the nuclear war option faster than the speed of light.

Quote:The United States and its allies continue to escalate their military aggression against Syria, behind the smokescreen of a proposed international peace conference scheduled for June in Geneva.

In official public discourse, the conference is seeking a political solution to end Syria’s civil war, involving a negotiated settlement between the Ba’athist regime and the Islamist-dominated opposition forces that are funded and armed by the US, Turkey and the Gulf States.

Russia’s foreign ministry has endorsed the conference and has persuaded the Syrian government, “in principle”, to attend in the hope of shaping the outcome in its interests.

Based on the final communiqué of the United Nations-backed Action Group for Syria meeting in Switzerland in June 2012, the stated aim of “Geneva II” is to secure a ceasefire, paving the way for a transitional regime charged with ensuring a “democratic and pluralist” Syria in which the “people” will “determine the future of the country.”

All of which is transparent nonsense.
