LOUISVILLE — On Saturday, Orb lit up Churchill Downs with an electrifying win in the Kentucky Derby. On Sunday, the most famous 3-year-old thoroughbred in the world celebrated the victory with a trip to New York City.
One day after taking the first leg of the Triple Crown, Orb was at Belmont Park, where he will prepare for the Preakness Stakes, which will be run in Baltimore on May 18.
Belmont is the home base for Orb trainer Shug McGaughey, who registered the first Derby win of his illustrious career.
Now, the 62-year-old McGaughey will try to win the Preakness for the first time and knows all eyes are on him — and he wouldn’t want it any other way.
