Swiss woman gangraped in Madhya Pradesh - chairman - 03-16-2013
A Swiss woman was gangraped by a group of eight unidentified persons in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place near the town late Friday night when the woman along with her husband was touring the region on a bicycle as part of their India tour, Datia SP, CS Solanki said.
The incident happened at village Jhadia in Datia district, more than 400 kilometers north of Bhopal.
The victim along with her husband were on their way on two bicycles on Friday to Seonda, a tourist spot in Datia district from Orchha, another tourist spot in Madhya Pradesh when they decided to camp near the village for the night.

At the night the accused pounced on the couple. They held the husband at gun-point and raped the woman.
The couple was camping at a place on their way back from Orchha, where temples of Lord Ram are situated, and were proceeding to Agra when they were looted and the victim was allegedly gangraped in the presence of her husband, police said.
The woman has been admitted to Kamalaraje hospital in Gwalior and her medical tests have confirmed rape, police sources said.
Eight persons have been rounded up on the basis of suspicion and are being questioned in connection with the case, the SP said.
"We are scouring the forest area in search of those involved in the crime," he said without giving more details.

Really sad. When we were india we had chaperones every minute and never went out at night by ourselves. Although we wanted to...we didnt leave the hotel. There were enough men asking us to go out....but I was like helllllllll no.

Ketchim, you say the most "interesting" things. It is bad news. Those poor Swiss tourists. They must have gone through hell. Tourists should be careful when they travel in rural areas.
