Bagasse - ketchim - 12-11-2012 Havana Energy has just signed a $50m investment deal to build a renewable-energy power plant in central Cuba, supplying one of the country's biggest sugar mills as well as the national grid. During the harvest it will be fuelled by sugar-cane residue, known as bagasse. Re: Bagasse - ketchim - 12-11-2012 Who thinks Guyana can be as forward thinking as Cuba ? Prize for a good answer to using Bagasse  Re: Bagasse - ketchim - 12-11-2012 Ramotar only interested in Rum from the cane field ?
Re: Bagasse - ketchim - 12-11-2012 That is now on its way and if this pilot project succeeds, the British team has an option to build four more power plants at other sugar mills.
Re: Bagasse - Meseret - 12-11-2012 Guyana has been looking into Bagasse for electricity since my days at the IADB and that was a long long time ago. The IADB gave a lot of $$$$ for the studies but I don't think anything ever came out of it. This was since in Burnham/Hoyte days. Re: Bagasse - ketchim - 12-11-2012 Thanks Mes , neveah knew that the PNC had already investigated it ! Now , after 4 years of research , they got it !!! Eureka !
