I wonder what language those coolie Indians were speaking as they eat their lunches? Strictly bhojpuri? Strictly English Guyanese patois? Or a mixture of bhojpuri and patois?

I've always been fascinated at how the majority Indians in Guyana and Trinidad kept alive all aspects of their culture (music and dance) and religions (Hinduism and Islam) but lost their mother language altogether. At what stage, or at what point in time did the Indians start speaking creolese English and stop speaking bhojpuri?

When the Colonists mixed the Tribes by Location.
The plan was to ensure they spoke various Dialects :
to avoid Communication that Could result in Uprisings !
