The opposition, led by Juan Guaido, who proclaimed himself Venezuela’s interim president, expects humanitarian aid to begin arriving in the country on Saturday. The US relief aid has been so far collected at logistics hubs in Brazil's Roraima, Colombia's Cucuta and on the Caribbean island of Curacao.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro previously said that Venezuela would close the border with Brazil and was considering closing the border with Colombia. He has warned that the US and its allies were using "the pretext of delivering humanitarian aid" to try to "destroy the independence and sovereignty of the country."

Mercier finds it unlikely that American troops will be deployed to Ven, but the greater danger is a proxy war using Colombian and Brazilian right-wing militias and Eric Prince mercenaries. But he states that if the Ven. military holds firmly to Maduro, the coup will be defeated.

I’m checking the Ruptly live coverage of the events unfolding at the border between Venezuela and Columbia right now. Around 300 rioters on the columbian side of the border are throwing rocks at a venezuelan anti-riot formation on the other side of the border. Venezuelan anti-riot formation is responding with tear gas. I’m not an expert, but I don’t think this kind of small provocation, violent but useless at the same time, is what the US needs to justify a war. When the rioters get tired of throwing rocks at a shield formation and sniffing tear gas, the situation should calm down.

The more obvious question at the moment is why the columbian border police is just allowing this violent riot to happen on their side of the border, but I think we all know the answer to that.
