Guyana First couple in Trinidad for routine medical examination - chairman - 05-21-2018
PRESIDENT David Granger and First Lady Sandra Granger departed for Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday morning, to undergo their annual medical examinations.
According to a statement from the Ministry of the Presidency (MoTP), the couple will return to Guyana on Thursday, May 24, 2018.
“These checks are a regular part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and both the President and the First Lady remain in good health. The Ministry of the Presidency urges all Guyanese to implement measures aimed at ensuring their good health, which should include regular health checks, exercise and healthy eating habits,” the statement read.
In the interim, Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo is performing the duties of the head of state.

I am a bit confused here. If Guyana’s health care system is so first class why are its leaders not utilising it and rather seek the healthcare elsewhere?

In my opinion and from painful experiences the GPHC is a national death chamber. The private hospitals are not much different.
Clearly the first class local health care service is only for the Guyanese plebs. Quite a shame.

it i shameful, disgraceful that he has not and publicly goes elsewhere for medical attention. and to Trinidad too. he must have a buddy medical doctor deh whom he trusts
as far as I know Trinidad is just as much of a death chamber as BG can possibly be for medical services. he shud try Bim if is close to home he wants to stay
