Michael Beasley drops 30 points as Knicks roll over Thunder - chairman - 12-17-2017 Carmelo Anthony’s return to Madison Square Garden at least represented a familiar experience from much of his New York tenure, replete with a mixture of boos and cheers from the hometown crowd and another disappointing loss in the standings for his team. Anthony was held without a point in the second half, enabling the retooled Knicks to completely steal his Thunder — and impressively prevail without an injured Kristaps Porzingis for the first time in five tries this season – with a 111-96 victory on Saturday night over Oklahoma City. “We wanted this one. I’m not going to sit here and lie,” a dejected Anthony said afterward. “It was a fun game. We wanted this one. But for us it’s a bigger picture, so we move on.” Michael Beasley pumped in a season-high tying 30 points, Courtney Lee finished with 20, and the two players obtained from the Thunder for Anthony — Doug McDermott (13) and Enes Kanter (10) – also scored in double figures as the surging Knicks (16-13) posted their fourth straight win. |
