I will not waste my time with this pessimism. Chomsky is brilliant no doubt but he is also western, european derived and as a Jew from the most negative and destructive human cultural source that exists.
europe/europeans.. as the modern source of comprehensive, exhaustive systems of human exploitation are not the ones to speak of anything like this..europe and its intellectual representatives.
europe has brought the world to this brink, channeled all flows of philosophy, of analysis of all phases of existence into dead end euro streams that facilitated human exploitation and the maintainance of the social class system evolved on human exploitation.
europe also made sure that all that opposed europe, or evolved alternative views of life to the european dead end nonsense, were shut down, proponents killed off or otherwise eliminated.
Chomsky is now conflating all that is human into european suicidal crap and judging humanity as a whole on that basis, as done, toast, finished, even as insane trump and failed european systems of exploitation face their own end.
but it is an end to european social failure that is what it is..and nothing else or more.
Chomsky is man who owes his position to the very exploitation of humanity that has brought humanity to this brink. Chomksy has never explained himself in these terms and accepted who he is, his place in life and what pays for it. his place in life unfair, unjust..but has always been good and right to him. he has never put it, his own life and career, in its proper perspective
and Chomsky has never put Israel in proper perspective which is a shame for otherwise Chomsky cannot be considered a totally negative intellectual factor. but he has never been decisive or revolutionary either. and that can be due only to his social position at the top of society..as intellectual elite
for possibilities forward I look not to europe..or anything euro derived.. but elsewhere. europe as we have known it has come to its end as a viable social entity..intellectual/political/economic. hopefully we can save the world from europe's death/wrath in throes of its failure...not allow europe take us all in tow, as it descends into hell
