Build Windies ODI squad around Brathwaite – Ambrose - chairman - 02-19-2017 FORMER West Indies bowling legend Sir Curtly Ambrose has called for the Barbadian opener Kraigg Brathwaite to be made a central figure in the regional team’s One Day International (ODI) squad on the heels of several impressive performances in the WICB Regional Super50 tournament. The Barbados Pride opener has been one of the most impressive batsmen on display so far, racking up a total of 462 runs, the second most in the competition behind Leeward Islands Kieran Powell. In nine matches Brathwaite has fired two centuries and three half centuries enroute to leading the team to the final against Jamaica Scorpions yesterday. The 24-year-old who made his ODI debut against Pakistan last year has made seven appearances since, the last coming against Zimbabwe in November. Ambrose is convinced a consistent inclusion for Brathwaite could bear fruit for the Windies. “I have to say that I am most impressed with Kraigg Brathwaite he hasn’t really been in the one day setup consistently.
