The first Test of the NZ series will be his 50th as captain : most for Pakistan
Pakistan have won 24 Tests under Misbah, which is ten more than they have won
under any other captain - they had 14 wins when Imran Khan and Javed Miandad
led the team. Misbah also has more runs and hundreds as captain
than any other Pakistan player.

Finally underway. New Zealand win the toss and opt to have a bowl first. Jeet Ravel given his debut. This will appease the Kiwi fans that have been clamouring for him to replace Guptill in the side.
Colin de Grandhomme is also selected for the first time. His father Laurence played for Zimbabwe before they gained Test status. Colin himself represented Zimbabwe at the 2004 Under-19 World Cup.

I am not sure which was more mesmerizing, Azhar Ali's off stump cartwheeling out of the ground or de Grandhomme's magnificent moustache.
