This is going to be tough going for New Zealand to claw anything out of this match, especially with the absence of Kane Williamson. The Kiwis may take heart from the fact that of the 25 instances of teams scoring 250+ in the first innings here, they have only gone on to win 7 times as compared to 14 draws.

That said, NZ's batting looks awfully thin that I can't see anything other than a win for India.

India's Test players are to receive $20,000 per Test. Keep in mind: this is double the annual stipend the ICC gives to ENTIRE COUNTRIES.

Over the last 5 years, India have been just about unbeatable when playing at home: 16 wins, 2 losses and 3 draws. Their home winning percentage (76%) is the highest among any Test side over this period.

In a game dominated by the bat, it has been India's bowlers that win matches for them at home, averaging 25.45. Ashwin has been all but unplayable - taking 140 wickets at an average of 21.26 and a strike-rate of 46.2. When playing at home, Ravi has taken a five-wicket haul in 34% of all innings bowled.
