I read this whole article, and did a little Googling and couldn't find anything about when they changed the law/tax. Makes me thinking, surely there was a better way? Apparently it got attention, and now she is being revered, hundreds of years later, but really, was that worth it? I don't see a date for this, it's so strange what people will do to themselves just to get their point across, I wonder what she felt like, If I was her husband, I'm not sorry, but a divorce would be coming. If I had a woman who cut her own breast off, I'd be so sure as to what else she wouldn't care about cutting off.
