Mark Wood out for up to eight-weeks with ankle injury - dillinger10 - 04-19-2016 Quote:Mark Wood is facing a second operation on his chronic left ankle that would rule him out for at least the first two months of this season. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-3545737/England-remain-hopeful-Mark-Wood-available-Test-summer-seamer-prepares-second-ankle-operation.html This is really disheartening news as I have been impressed with Wood's progress over the last 12-months. He has real potential. He bowls at serious pace and gets good movement. Unfortunately, he has been hampered by injuries throughout his fledgling career and I do worry about his future. He has quite a violent delivery, especially on his foot front. If you watch his action, you will see that his front leg crashes down hard and straight into the pitch. I fear that ankle injuries and stress fractures may well continue to hamper his career unless he finds a way to lessen the stress and impact on his front foot.
