AB deVilliers RESIGN - ketchim - 01-16-2016 NOT !!
Re: AB deVilliers RESIGN - dillinger10 - 01-16-2016 Based on AB's comments prior to the third Test, it wouldn't surprise me if he retires after the final Test at Centurion. Prior to the start of the series, he mentioned that he wanted to play less cricket, and yet he was thrown the gloves in first Test and then the captaincy for the third Test. His comments earlier in the week were telling: Quote:"There have been a few rumours floating around, and in most rumours there is always a little bit of truth. It's not just in the last while; it's for two or three years I've been searching for the right answers, to play a little bit less cricket in one way or another, to keep myself fresh and to keep enjoying the game. Every now and then in the past few years I've found myself on the pitch not enjoying myself as much as I should be, and that raises concerns within myself. I've been searching for answers and speaking to people and obviously that's leaked a bit," http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/77237/ab-de-villiers-refuses-to-quash-retirement-rumours Re: AB deVilliers RESIGN - ketchim - 01-16-2016 The only batsman Broad has dismissed more often in Tests is Michael Clarke (11 times). Broad averages 18.11 runs per dismissal against de Villiers and 23.81 against Clarke. Re: AB deVilliers RESIGN - pwarbi - 01-18-2016 AB always wanted the captaincy and I think he was a little annoyed that it didn't come his way then. While the performance in this second test was...well, nothing short of embarrassing, I'd be very surprised if he'd be thinking about resigning anytime soon. Re: AB deVilliers RESIGN - pwarbi - 01-23-2016 You couldn't make it up could you really? AB takes the captaincy, shoots his mouth off and gets bowled for a duck. Not only that, it's Broad who gets him...again! |
