3rd Test: India v South Africa at Nagpur - chairman - 11-25-2015 India 66/1 (18.3 ov) South Africa India won the toss and elected to bat Re: 3rd Test: India v South Africa at Nagpur - Gina145 - 11-25-2015 South Africa bowled out India for 215, but ended the day at 11/2, including the loss of night-watchman Imran Tahir. It's frightening that 215 is the highest innings total in the series thus far. Conditions are sure stacked in favour of the spinners. Re: 3rd Test: India v South Africa at Nagpur - chairman - 11-26-2015 India 215 & 7/0 (4.0 ov) South Africa 79 India lead by 143 runs with 10 wickets remaining Re: 3rd Test: India v South Africa at Nagpur - dillinger10 - 11-26-2015 Well that unraveled pretty quickly for South Africa - once again undone by Ashwin and Jadeja. By my research, this is South Africa's lowest Test score since they were bundled out for 72 by England back in 1957. Edit: According to ESPN, the 79-runs is the lowest total India have ever dismissed a team for in Tests. Re: 3rd Test: India v South Africa at Nagpur - dillinger10 - 11-26-2015 Former and current players have taken to Twitter to voice their concerns with the condition of this wicket. Glenn Maxwell: "This wicket is diabolical!! 9 legitimate wicket chances in the first hour with 3 plays and misses every over!" Michael Vaughan: "This pitch in Nagpur is nothing short of diabolical for Test Cricket ... Telling me that was prepared to last 5 days..!!!!!!!!!!" Matthew Hayden: "How disappointing it is to see the quality of Test Cricket reduced to what we are witnessing." Re: 3rd Test: India v South Africa at Nagpur - Gina145 - 11-26-2015 I've also heard it being referred to as being like a sixth day pitch. Then again, India seem to be able to better equipped to bat on it. Re: 3rd Test: India v South Africa at Nagpur - Gina145 - 11-26-2015 Maybe I should take back that last comment. Imran Tahir is taking wickets. Why did Amla hold him back for so long? Re: 3rd Test: India v South Africa at Nagpur - dillinger10 - 11-28-2015 South Africa's impressive record of nine years and 15 away trips without losing a series finally came to an end in this series. Given how teams in the modern era struggle to win even one series away from home, this was an impressive feat and one that may not be matched for some time. Re: 3rd Test: India v South Africa at Nagpur - ketchim - 11-28-2015 that was truly an Ambush :-[ Re: 3rd Test: India v South Africa at Nagpur - ketchim - 11-29-2015 Ashwin gets to pelt .. This big 3 alliance is disturbing... |
