Chandrika, the 25-year old batsman, averages 25 as well in first-class cricket.
But his selection into the national squad comes on the back of better recent form.
Besides the 74 he hit against the Australians, he's struck four fifties this year in the Regional four-day tournament.

Hope or Dowrich will play in Chanders' spot. Chandrika looks like he will be selected to open, block, block and block some more, Guyanese style.
He has a poor record domestically, but you can see the thinking behind his pick. Lloyd's looking for an opener who can drop anchor.

Nah, West Indians dont appease. A West Indian selector pushed to select a Guyanese will do the opposite and select less Guyanese.
