The BBC is reporting that Pietersen met with Strauss tonight and was told that he will not play for England again.

Kevin Pietersen amassed his highest career score, 326 not out, to give Surrey complete control of their LV= County Championship Division Two game with Leicestershire at the Kia Oval.

Pietersen’s astonishing knock, studded with 14 sixes and 34 fours, lifted the hosts to 528 for nine, a first-innings lead of 236.

Amid blistering hitting in the evening session the 34-year-old passed his previous best of 254 not out and went on to raise a triple-century with a maximum.
