New Delhi: Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has asked for a remuneration of Rs 1.90 crore for services rendered as president Board of Crontrol for Cricket in India-Indian Premier League during the seventh edition of the Twenty20 league last year. Gavaskar was appointed 'President, BCCI-IPL' on the directive of the Supreme Court. The apex court had also directed the BCCI to pay him "an adequate compensation" as he had to put his various media commitments on hold during that period.
"Gavaskar has written a letter to the BCCI and has sought Rs 1.90 crore," said a senior BCCI official, who attended the board's working committee meeting. "The sum is equivalent to the remuneration he had to forego during the period as he couldn't take up his media assignments which includes TV commentary, writing columns and also acting as media pundit."
When asked if the sum had been approved by the BCCI, the official said, "Not as of now. But obviously, he needs to be compensated as there is a SC directive and we need to follow that. But this letter will be placed before the finance committee.
"The sum that Gavaskar will get could be exactly what he has demanded or less depending on what finance committee's recommendations are."

On the brighter note.I am going to check the qualifications required to become IPl prez..
