WI vs India: discussion thread - TRINIDADDY - 03-02-2015

If we win the toss, should we bat first or second? I say bat second. Anything we set, Kohli is going to chase with style.

Also, I think we should let Holder open and put Smith down the batting order. I've resigned myself to the fact that Smith will never be dropped - possibly due to the fact that he increasingly looks like a cute panda - so we might as well hide him with the tail.

Tuesday afternoon chuckle ........

“The point is that we have a good bowling attack, good batsmen, and a good all-round side,” Lloyd said here Monday.

Am not sure what 'mauka, mauka' means (funny language) nor if it is necessarily funny ... though to the Indian population it obviously is..... ...

Smith "Cute Panda" ,,,,OMG... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Heard Gayle is not well (sore back) . Is this correct?

My eleven for WI against India:

Gayle (Smith if Gayle not fit), Charles, Samuels, Simmons,Carter, Ramadin, Sammy, Russel, Holder, Roach, Taylor.

This is as per batting order, should be strictly followed.

Holder should bowl 7-8 with the new ball. This 125 kph is fodder for hitting 4-6`s in slog overs & power play. Russel bowled the best in slog overs.

Give Sammy as less bowling as possible. By the way, i know for sure Carter bowls decent medium pace. Why not tried against SA or Zim..surely nothing could have been worse than 409.

Win the toss & bat first.

Between 10-30 overs Holder does negative captaincy, he spreads the field when there should be more in circle to save singles & put pressure. Against SA, Amla edged twice past slip of Benn & there was not slip to catch . If WI don`t take 4-5 wickets within 30 overs than another carnage in the offing.

bat Russel at 3

Re: WI vs India: discussion thread - bala24 - 03-03-2015

Opening with holder might just pay off for the windies. He eases off the pressure, even though he is a tail ender, and he has been a good bat more than once.
Dropping smith might not happen, they might as well put him at last..Tongue

Whatever may it be,do you really think i will make a change.?

Lolz..thats sounds like too much of a sarcasm but i reckon that surely will be our ploy, because half the side can't play spin and ashwin can flummox them easily..:p Tongue

Drat why did i reveal the plan.Tongue
