West Indies Problem:In a Nutshell - ketchim - 01-21-2015 That New Zealand tour is viewed as an aberration because of poor sportsmanship, and it was reported West Indies players were so angry with the umpiring on the1979-80 tour of New Zealand : http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/series/60485.html that they basically stopped playing, dropped catches on purpose, and let balls go to the boundary. ... Re: West Indian People - ketchim - 01-21-2015 Now they ANGRY with the Board ..... :-[
Re: West Indian People - ketchim - 01-21-2015 As young batting stars, Darren Bravo and Kane Williamson had similar averages until recently. However, while Bravo has been disconcertingly absent from cricket twice recently for unknown "personal reasons" click Williamson has stepped up to the point where discerning judges reckon he could become New Zealand's greatest ever batsman. Bravo can certainly learn from Williamson's ability to put a high price on his wicket, because for such a talented batsman, Bravo tends to get out to many soft dismissals. Re: West Indian People - ketchim - 01-21-2015 Dwayne Bravo and Andre Russell are equally good allrounders as Corey Anderson and Jimmy Neesham, but a combination of injuries, T20 league clashes with West Indies fixtures and poor decision-making by the selectors has denied West Indies their services in Tests. Neesham scored hundreds in his first two Tests, which is certainly something Russell can strive to replicate........................(as outlined by Clive Lloyd )
Re: West Indian People - ketchim - 01-21-2015 Denesh Ramdin and BJ Watling are of similar ability ! Trent Boult, Tim Southee and the pace of Adam Milne vs trio of Ravi Rampaul, Jerome Taylor and Kemar Roach: can certainly rival the New Zealand three. Re: West Indian People - ketchim - 01-21-2015 The obvious area of difference between the two sides is player-board relations :-[ Re: West Indies Problem:In a Nutshell - ketchim - 01-22-2015 The Dressing Room is Toxic : after turfing Polly and Brabits .. I say clean house of all the Troublemakers 8) Re: West Indies Problem:In a Nutshell - mapoui - 01-22-2015 good thread. that is indeed the problem.... the raspy relationship between board and players due to the boards rape of the cricket. we do not have a run or great players as in the past but we can do a whole lot better had we a true nationalist administrative organization that looked after the cricket first and not their own interest as a bureaucracy instead. that's it. the behavior demonstrated by the wicb as a board first has alienated everyone since 1995, especially the players who now do not care about west indies cricket at all.... and even less about the board itself. they do not play hard when they are selected..and are constantly on the look out for opportunity to set themselves up first, and dam west indies cricket they have seen the board do that at every opportunity for the board..not for the cricket..and by now they will not sacrifice themselves in any way at all for the west indian game that has been stolen away from the people and put to use to feed the board members. and worse of all the west indian people do not appear to care. so what the hell is there to fight for... save oneself? that is it in the nutshell cracked open right deh fuh all to see. man have to look fuh demselves
