**** Guyana's Turnaround **** - Mail - 12-13-2014 Guyana having dominated the bottom of the table, of the 4 day FC competition, for the better part of the last decade have inexplicably transformed themselves overnight! Not sure if they took anyone from the Draft, (you would think they and LIs would have at least 5 draftees. each, given their sustained poor performances) but this year they have come out fighting tough and from nowhere are top of the table! Had it not been for their bizarre meltdown against Bim they would not just be at the top of the table, but a mile ahead.... Given the shambles of their internal administration and poor performances over the last decade or so, what has/ have changed? When Jamaica was dominating there were no individuals standing out in their team, as an International for me, but they dominated! I have a lot of time for Beaton and Bishoo but Guyana may not not have any other potential internationals in their ranks but they are doing well. One can argue Permaul has developed an arm ball and a doosra and he too is doing very well. That for me has been his downfall as he lacked variation rather than determination and mental fabric. Could the same sort of rebuilding happen to the Windies in SA given their more robust challenges since Ramdin's tenure began? Re: **** Guyana's Turnaround **** - chairman - 12-13-2014 guyana drafted ramon reifer from barbados Re: **** Guyana's Turnaround **** - Barbosa - 12-14-2014 our players rank with the best at youth level when raw talent will give them success but when they are no longer teenagers, its not only about talent but the right attitude to turn them into professionals and the willingness to work hard on their game to improve it. For most West Indians, cricket is a way out of being poor and getting famous so when they start making the 'big' money if they are not mentally prepared for that success their lives and attitudes changes cause most people in 3rd world countries view success based on wealth Re: **** Guyana's Turnaround **** - ketchim - 12-14-2014 Guyana never " turnaround" : Guyana continue to pump out the most W.I debutants !
