Busy Signal is my favorite recording artiste. He is such a diverse individual, he will take you to the sweet reggae beats and then bounce back with some dancehall hits that you just cant seem to resist gyrating to. He is also easy on the eye and he is not too hype with all this talent, he actually is one very humbled individual. BUSY SIGNAL TO THE WORLD!!!!!!!

I must admit its strange to see on the billboard charts as the biggest reggae song of the year "Rude" being sang by a bunch of white boys who look like they belong in a New England Sub-Urb somewhere, but thats just it, love it or Hate; its no longer about the performer, and wholely about the music, as MAGIC! a reggae fusion band showed us it can be done, and on a mainstream level. Are we witnessing Rock and Roll all over again, is reggae slipping from our grasp? I suppose time will tell, till then, give us good music

What is even stranger is the persons who emerge victorious to win Grammy Award for best reggae artist, most of the times Jamaicans do not even know of these persons. I often wonder what is the criteria that they use to judge these individuals. It is good to know that Caribbean music is going on a worldwide platform but shouldn't they at least give the natives of it some form of recognition?

The Grammy Awards are such a joke--it usually boils down to "who sold the most records", and politics. It very rarely has to do with merit.
Thankfully because of the internet, I think artists that have something of value can now get their material out more easily and quickly, and can find an audience for it--and there are ways to monetize their output as well, which is pretty nice.
