Some of Sumayyah al-Suwaidi's designs caused controversy

"I had see-through abayas, and the models were wearing one-piece [swimwear] underneath.

I had a lot of girls telling me that they did not want their abayas represented in this way .

But I did it in this way for the West [because] they wouldn't wear it in the same way

that we wear it."    Wink

Most of these fashion companies start on Instagram," says Dr Van Horne.

"They're doing Instagram and Twitter - and some Facebook.

"They're also using [messaging services] Whatsapp and BBM."

Abu Dhabi-based Noor Alsherif is one such designer who puts photos of her clothes up !

Those clothes are pretty. Yes, but can they drive a car down the street? Are they legally given driver's licenses?
Can they divorce if their husband tried to kill them? If their husband permitted a divorce could they take legal custody of their minor aged children? Can they vote? Can they hold office?

Female drivers are overrated : we cuss them universally and are hypocrites here !

Queen Latifah be sporting some nice gowns something like that.  Smile
