BCCI members keen on cutting WI tours
  • [li]Besides taking legal recourse for the loss of income, some BCCI members are also calling for a reduction in tours to the West Indies. While joint-secretary Anurag Thakur said the BCCI should cut "all ties" with West Indies, a majority of members believe the BCCI should do away with at least half of their tours to the Caribbean scheduled over the next eight years.[/li]
  • [li]According to the draft FTP, India are supposed to play 10 Tests, 15 ODIs and four T20s over five series during the FTP cycle from 2015 to 2023. Four of these five series are scheduled to be played in the West Indies.[/li]
  • [li]BCCI members are likely to demand that India should at least do away with the tours to the West Indies in 2016 and 2017, at the working committee meeting on October 21. India are supposed to play four Tests in the West Indies in July-August 2016, and then return in July 2017 to play five ODIs and a T20.[/li]

The BCCI's team of sharks are busy working for $2000 per hour trying to figure out how to make a case.

It's only a matter of time before we know the results of their creativity

If this report is to be believed, it sounds as though they weren't able to come up with much as of yet.

Quote:The BCCI is unlikely to claim damages from the WICB right away, for West Indies having pulled out of the tour to India mid-way, but it could hit them with a series embargo. The BCCI's working committee, which will discuss the consequences of the pullout in Hyderabad on Tuesday, is also unlikely to suspend West Indies players from the IPL.

The BCCI's financial losses due to the cancellation of a major portion of the scheduled series could touch Rs 400 crore (US$65 million approx), but instead of claiming damages at this point, the working committee could decide to issue the WICB a legal notice, asking it why it shouldn't be penalised right away for the breach of bilateral agreements signed between the two boards. Given that the WICB has been struggling financially, the BCCI is unlikely to claim huge damages right now.
