Douglas Sang Hue : Dead at 82 - ketchim - 08-23-2014 Douglas Sang Hue, a legendary Jamaican international cricket umpire, died on Friday morning in Kingston. Sang Hue, 82 years old at the time of his passing, had been ailing for sometime. He stood in 31 Tests over two decades, starting at Sabina Park in his native Jamaica in 1961. In 1972-73 Sang Hue became the first umpire to stand in all five Tests in a series in the West Indies. He did so again the following season against England. Facing the last ball of the day from left-arm spinner Derek Underwood, Bernard Julien played a forward defensive-stroke. Alvin Kallicharran, Julien's partner at the other end, immediately walked up the pitch towards the pavilion assuming the day's play was over.
