Lloyd says 23-year-old Root showed great leadership qualities on his way to his fourth century for his country during the 10th-wicket partnership, which came together with England in trouble at 298-9 in response to India's 457 all out.
"He got into the team as an opener for Nick Compton, but he seems to have quickly have settled into that middle order," 'Bumble' told the Sky Cricket podcast. "The clues have always been that when he goes back to Yorkshire, he doesn't always open and so he looks well at home there.

Root already has a very healthy test average of 47.17 and with the popgun India fast bowling attack it can only go up.

Hey anybody averaging over 45 as a batsman have "leadership" qualities.
Root will be a future England captain - once the Aussies dispatch Cook in the next Ashes series.
