Jos Buttler believes England can rule again - chairman - 02-19-2014 Jos Buttler believes England can bounce back from Ashes humiliation with victory at the upcoming World Twenty20 tournament in the West Indies, according to the Manchester Evening News. The Lancashire wicket-keeping batsman was not a part of England's test squad for the 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Australia, but did appear in the One Day and T20 matches, and was a part of the eleven that won England's solitary game of the tour. “It will be really hard going to Bangladesh playing in conditions very different to what we have been playing in this winter. Sub-Continent teams will be favourites, it will be a really tough tournament,†said the youngster. England won the tournament last time it was staged in 2010, but a win this time around looks very unlikely, especially on the back of a whitewash in the limited overs series against Australia. If England are to come anywhere near claiming glory again, it is of course without talismanic Kevin Pietersen, whose England career came to a messy end earlier this month after his presence in the squad became too much for certain individuals. Big hitting Buttler has been in the England set-up since 2010, and does not feel he is the finished article yet. "I have played 20-odd one-dayers now and so far I have experienced two different halves," he said. England's first match is the March 22, but before then they have three ODI's and three T20's against hosts, West Indies. “It was a big learning experience and at the start I was almost a bit too desperate to perform well and a bit too desperate to show people what I can do and show the dressing room I was good enough." Re: Jos Buttler believes England can rule again - SeanM - 02-19-2014 If they think they'll win, they have another thing coming...They wil not win they tourney... Re: Jos Buttler believes England can rule again - Mail - 02-19-2014 Well we did not rule as we achieved the number 1 position and hovered there or there about playing excellent cricket. The team to the West Indies without Cook, Anderson, Bell could be interesting. I would have expected a Finn or Onion to be in the squad but we have taken the opportunity to punt a few new lads of whom I know quite little. Re: Jos Buttler believes England can rule again - pahagwl - 02-20-2014 This was a team which was performing very consistently only a few months ago. They had recorded victories in tests against India and Australia and had also reached the finals of the ICC champions trophy last year. It was only in the recent Australian tour that they struggled to come up with results. So, I completely agree with Joss Butler that this team has the capability to bounce back and regain its earlier form. Re: Jos Buttler believes England can rule again - boquiesse - 02-21-2014 England getting nowhere in the World T20. Now if the west indian cowlashers can click at the right time we could have Sammy lifting the trophy for the second time - enough to make him Sir Darren |
