NYC to Settle Stop & Frisk Suits
After campaigning aggressively against random police stops of minorities, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Thursday his administration will settle lawsuits involving stop and frisk. “We’re here today to turn the page on one of the most divisive problems in our city,†de Blasio said. De Blasio's predecessor, Michael Bloomberg, argued the policy played a role in the lowest crime levels in years.
