[/quote] Kindergarten may be a bit soon, but there is talk of it becoming compulsory to learn an indigenous language in primary school. Re: Gina145 :Zulu - mapoui - 05-23-2013 well wat is the actual situation according to the experts. I wud say kindergarten..as its hard to pik up a langauge by the time you are at university..and do work in the langauge as well. seems they may need a head start but chancellor williams dealt with the langauge issue way back in the day in a great book about ghana and african unity. the problem is much bigger than just RSA. deh all have to decide on languages de are going to have to use to bring about unity. Williams suggested that they use english as one that would make them all understand each other and be facile in the world. then an african language had to be developed ultimately to replace english..or to add to english.. as universal african communcation. a lot is involved here..but by now an african langauage in RSA should have been instituted in RSA |
