Re: Hughesy has passed away :( :( - myballfield - 11-27-2014 rest in peace mate Re: Hughesy has passed away :( :( - Mail - 11-27-2014 Very, very saddened indeed. I extend condolences to his family and friends. Wore my Middlesex tie to my morning meeting in his memory. RIP....... Re: Sean Abbott receives an outpouring of support - Mail - 11-27-2014 Yes we cannot forget this young man in all of this. What he must be going through is unfathomable... He should know it was an accident, get your theerapy and continue playing. Re: First Test should go ahead: Border - Mail - 11-27-2014 A young person dying is always a shock because of the shortness of their life. It brings home to us all, the fragility of life and the limited time we all have on this earth. The Test should go ahead as that is the best way to honour PH's memory. Re: Hughesy has passed away :( :( - chairman - 11-27-2014 Hughes grew up on the family farm at Macksville on the mid-north coast of New South Wales state, where he started playing against men when he was 12. He moved to Sydney to pursue his cricket career when he was 17, and spent time working with batting coach Neil D'Costa -- who had previously worked with Clarke. D'Costa predicted big things for the future, quoted as telling people "the kid will go all the way." Re: Hughesy has passed away :( :( - Mail - 11-27-2014 Nice bit of information Krishna! Re: Hughesy has passed away :( :( - Captain - 11-27-2014 Dam, I did not want to read this I tried not to follow it on cricinfo but RIP Condolences to the OZZIES from the WICF family Re: Hughesy has passed away :( :( - wowtgp - 11-28-2014 It's the first ever incident of a batsman dying after getting hit in the head. I had hoped that he would recover, but he didn't. Seam would be devastated right now. Poor kid! Re: Hughesy has passed away :( :( - Calypso - 11-28-2014 Apparently, Michael Clarke and the Hughes' family went to the SCG at sunset yesterday evening where they stood on the pitch in silence in a private vigil .....
Re: First Test should go ahead: Border - Calypso - 11-28-2014 James Sutherland said this morning that no decision has been made as to whether it will or not. He said "Cricket will go on ... when we're ready" |
