Re: First Hindu chaplain in US military is 'groundbreaking' - Kwami - 12-18-2011 are mormons christians? their founder BinghamYoung is a proven charlatan .Swami Dyanand the founder of the arya samaj was also of a shady character if you should google to find out how he met his demise Re: First Hindu chaplain in US military is 'groundbreaking' - Snoopster - 12-18-2011 Seems to me that this Swami Dyanand wanted to bring about a Lutheran type reformation to Hinduism. I.e. prohibiting the use of idols during rituals, allowing women to become members of the priestly class, and allowing non-Brahmins to read and interpret Sanskrit texts. Re: First Hindu chaplain in US military is 'groundbreaking' - Kwami - 12-18-2011 he should have joined the lutherans then Re: First Hindu chaplain in US military is 'groundbreaking' - Snoopster - 12-18-2011
he should have joined the lutherans then
But he's a Hindu. Just like the Lutherans genuinely believe they are Christians. ::lol:: As an atheist all of this is just semantics to me tho. Re: First Hindu chaplain in US military is 'groundbreaking' - Kwami - 12-18-2011 At least Martin luther tried to reform the roman catholic church without changing it beliefs system . Dyanand chose to change the belief system by pontificating for mono atheism in hinduism. The idea of the atman (soul) being liberated from the cycle of re-birth and death through Moksha and being at one with the supreme deity Brahman is in essence mono-theism. The human deities such as Ram, Sita, Krishna, Shiva etc. are nothing but earthly manifestations of the the one supreme being Brahman. Any pundits here on WICF? Re: First Hindu chaplain in US military is 'groundbreaking' - Kwami - 12-18-2011 This has always been understood by hindus and so why form a cult to push for what is already known Re: First Hindu chaplain in US military is 'groundbreaking' - Snoopster - 12-18-2011
This has always been understood by hindus and so why form a cult to push for what is already known
He may well have been pissed off by the Brahmin elites and their monopolization of the right to perform rituals, read and interpret sacred texts etc. He wouldn't have been the first either. In essence though, it seems that he was just attempting to re-brand the product as "new" and "improved". Re: First Hindu chaplain in US military is 'groundbreaking' - Kwami - 12-18-2011 I would like to have a new and improved woman but you dont see me pushing the issue.
Hugh Hefner and Larry Flint have been pushing the issue for years for us men. ::lol:: |
