I'm in the same boat too. I think most amateurs struggle with the longer clubs since those are harder to control and bring back into plane.
My 3, 4, 5, and 6 irons look pristine compared to the 7, 8, 9 and wedge. ::LOL::

I always buy golf equipment used and from Craigslist and Kijiji. Very rarely I'll go and buy new from Golf Town.
