Quote:Teenage fast bowler Marquino Mindley made a dream start to his WICB Four-day Professional League career when he claimed three wickets and made a third best score of 42 on day one of the Jamaica Franchise's opener against the Windwards Volcanoes at Sabina Park yesterday.

The 19-year-old, who earlier this year represented the West Indies at the ICC Youth World Cup, ended with figures of three for seven, as the Windwards, replying to Jamaica's first innings 208, closed the day on 16 for three.

Bowling a controlled line and length, Mindley accounted for the Windwards' top-two batsmen, opener Devon Smith and André Fletcher, during his first spell at the first-class level, which included three overs, two of which were maidens.

Smith was caught by a diving Jon-Ross Campbell for six after facing three deliveries, while Fletcher was caught behind by wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh Jr for five at 12 for two.

Young Windwards batting sensation Sunil Ambris was the other batsman to be dismissed by Mindley.
The 21-year-old, who made a century at the venue last season, fell for a two-ball duck after playing back to a delivery that kept low and was adjudged leg before wicket.

Mindley, a past student of St Elizabeth Technical, had earlier put on a face-saving 70 for the ninth wicket with spinner Nikita Miller to lift Jamaica from a precarious 120 for eight.
