btw: no time for Younis Ton :

370 lead : this partnership can take it to 450 ( 80 runs)....and a 2nd time Declaration at Lunch Day 4 ??

Re: Another century for Younis coming up? - TRINIDADDY - 11-01-2014

What size lead do you think they'll declare on?

Re: Another century for Younis coming up? - ketchim - 11-01-2014

Time is of essence for the 4th Innings :

IF they go crazy and score 80 by Lunch ...then fine !

BUT if Starc and Siddle suddenly figure out where the 3 sticks are   Tongue

Then an hour before TEA ??? : 450 - 500 declared !

I read an interesting note that no batsman has scored centuries in both innings of consecutive Test matches.

12 Number of times that Pakistan have won a Test after setting their opposition a 400-plus target. (click)

They have drawn three such games, totaling 15 instances in all of Pakistan setting a 400-plus target.

With a current lead of 370, this is all set to be the 16th such instance.  Wink

I suspect it isn't true because there was a record for the longest streak of centuries..over consecutive matches i guess..4 i reckon.

Re: Another century for Younis coming up? - dillinger10 - 11-01-2014

You are correct, bala. I just did some digging around and see that Everton Weekes holds the record with centuries in 5 consecutive innings. Weekes scored 1 century against England and 4 against India in 1948.

Re: Another century for Younis coming up? - TRINIDADDY - 11-01-2014

Weekes famously scored 5 centuries in a row, and then a 90 or so in the sixth innings.

It's double ton for him this time around. This guy seems to be in some supreme form nearing the end o his carer in test cricket. What a player!
