Remdesivir reduces the risk of hospitalization and medical visits due to COVID-19 in high-risk patients, new data suggest.
California-based Gilead Sciences Inc, the maker of the antiviral drug, published the results of its Phase III clinical trial on Wednesday.
Researchers found patients treated with remdesivir were 87 percent less likely to be hospitalized and 81 less likely to require a medical visit than those who were given a placebo.
The team says the findings shows that remdesivir, the only drug fully approved to treat severely ill coronavirus patients, can also be used for those who are at-high risk of becoming seriously ill - but are still early on in their infection.

T Dummy is no expert or strong well intentioned intellect that I find I must understand an so persist with his 'work' to make sure I understand what he is saying. there are scholars whom I have a hard time with but persist with to get as much as I could out of what they put up.
there are journalists and authors like that as well. one such is Pepe Escobar whom I mention here because I have to find out what's bothering me relative to him. I am trying to figure out what's going on relatively with Escobar, like I am talking with myself right now!
I find it hard to read Escobar, to stick to and focus on his work right in front of me! Yet as A journo Escobar is highly rated, top order! and he is considered positively by the popular interest. yet I find the man's work very difficult!
but I have persisted with Escobar and its been getting easier. and He does bring useful news and perspectives. Escobar is not a waste of time.
