Maybe the same can be said of the Indo-Berbicians at that time. They too felt that they were being oppressed by a black dominated government.
So coming out and cheering loudly for the teams from the sub-continent was a way of 'sticking' it to the PNC. This happened at Bourda also.
Note: this was also happening in England recently. It even caused an English politican to call for the 'cricket test' to be given to young British-born offsprings of Asian parents.
