Mitch Marsh

They are dropping like flies. I don't remember there being anywhere close to this many injuries last year. I wonder how much the short turn around after the World T20, and the fact that there is seemingly a T20 tournament taking place every month of the year, plays a role in this.

Re: Anothe one bites the dust ! - dillinger10 - 05-02-2016

Add another to the list. This time Steve Smith. An injured wrist will keep him out of the rest of the tournament. What is in the water the Rising Pune Supergiants are drinking? KP, Faf, Mitch Marsh and now Steve Smith? That is some serious talent all dropping out through injuries.

At what point in time do we rename the Indian Premier League, the Injured Premier League? Big Grin

Mitchell Marsh's brother Shaun also joins him on the sidelines, ruled out for the rest of the tournament with a back injury of his own. I wonder if Hashim Amla finally gets a call? Darren Sammy and Jason Roy are also possibilities for the Kings XI.

Perhaps the bigger question is, will any Aussie be left standing come the end of the tournament?

Yes, yes he does. It took almost half the overseas players to get injured, but Hashim Amla is finally selected and will play out the rest of the tournament for the Kings XI. Too little, too late to help them out though.

Usman Khawaja has been drafted in to replace Faf in the Supergiants squad. I thought he was desperately unlucky not to have been drafted in the first place. He has had a magical last six months or so across all formats of the game.

Poor Khawaja: not only does he originally go undrafted in the IPL, but upon arriving at his new team he is presented with a misspelt shirt. Oops.

Hashim Amla did not play for Kings XI because he had arrived on the day of the match !!

His IPL debut is almost a certainty and with David Miller continuing to struggle,

Farhaan Behardien might be given a go ......

After all that waiting, Amla runs himself out fifth ball. I have no idea what he was thinking. He just wondered off his crease, appeared to slip slightly and ran himself out. I don't think QdK behind the stumps could believe it. Not a memorable start.
