You don't want Nash regardless how much runs he scored or can score! Re: Headline! Brendan Nash declares he’s available to play for Windies - pwarbi - 12-19-2015 Well Nash might not have mentioned he only played 4 games in the ECC last year, but he's right when he says the current west Indies squad need experience in there. Isn't a good team a blend of youth and experience? Aren't these the players that west Indies cricket SHOULD be looking at to help because no matter from what angle you look at the current squad, nobody can say that it doesn't need all the help it can get. [/quote] Give me quality over experience every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Look at the England team that was recently humiliated in the World Cup. That squad was loaded with veteran players with plenty of experience, the trouble was, they weren't that good. Fast forward a year and all those under performing veterans have been dumped and replaced by younger, much better players. Consequently, England have looked a much better team. Re: Headline! Brendan Nash declares he’s available to play for Windies - ketchim - 12-19-2015 West Indies don share Englands luxury of talented youth Their regional FC contest is mediocre . a young bats average of 50 is equivalent to an English 20 That is why they are now EXPOSED in Australia and lost by an Innings and a thousand runs. Blackwood , a Caribbean FC star contributed a double DUCK :-[ Re: Headline! Brendan Nash declares he’s available to play for Windies - dillinger10 - 12-19-2015 Point well taken. Though to be fair, England also got spanked the last time they were in Australia. I am still a firm believer in Kraigg Brathwaite and Blackwood has shown flashes of quality at the Test level. Hope and Dowrich are both still very young. I think Hope was rushed too soon. I haven't seen enough of Dowrich to form an opinion of his keeping his skills, but he looks like he could have some potential with the bat. Re: Headline! Brendan Nash declares he’s available to play for Windies - ketchim - 12-19-2015 Their Guyana counterparts WON the Championship . They did NOT but they are in OZ. Go Figure ....those score tell the story of why Barbados s NOT the regional Champs BUT Guyana is ... :-[ Re: Headline! Brendan Nash declares he’s available to play for Windies - King Mohunlal - 12-20-2015 they drop shiv as old so nash has no chance Re: Headline! Re: Headline! Brendan Nash declares he’s available to play for Windies - dillinger10 - 12-20-2015 Since 2000, there have been six cricketers to make their debut for West Indies after turning 30. The six are Vasbert Drakes, Ian Bradshaw, Travis Bowlin, Dale Richards, Kenroy Peters and Brendan Nash himself. Re: Headline! Brendan Nash declares he’s available to play for Windies - pwarbi - 12-21-2015 While to a certain extent I agree, the result wasn't in question for a start. The problem England had was they relied on the veterans instead of having them as there for the younger players to learn off. There's a place in a team for experienced players, but not the way England did it and made the veterans the key members and the younger players fringe players. It should have been done the other way round. |
