The cyclical collapse of oil prices is as predictable as death.
We all know we are going to die. The only surprise is when.
And with oil, even that is not very surprising anymore,
as it has happened every decade since 1986 – in 1998, 2008 and now again in 2014-15.

When Iranian oil hit the market after sanctions are lifted , oil will hover around 30 dollars per barrel and I don't see how Alberta can compete . They mine for oil on the tar sands instead of drilling.
Water is added to the tar sands to liquefy which is then shipped to refineries in Texas .
Right now this is being shipped by trains and unless the Keystone pipeline is built , I can see the oil industry being doomed in Alberta

She has also promised a royalty review to determine if Alberta is getting the proper amount of return from its resources.

And what did the working people of Alberta get during the heyday of the billion dollar revenues for the oil companies? Massive cuts to health care, education, and loss of employment.

Watched her victory speech ,Seems sincere . Her job will be difficult as the Wild rose opposition party is extremely right wing , mantra being tax cuts and spending cuts

Edmonton has always been a progressive place but now they are being joined by Calgary .

5 billion $ deficit !
To curb spending will require significant public-sector wage restraint, perhaps even another Klein-era 5-per-cent-wage rollback
for the entire public sector. But even this would only save about $1.5-billion.
Even less can be saved by postponing the construction of much needed new schools, roads and hospitals.
Where’s the rest going to come from?
To increase revenues, nibble around the edges with options such as bringing back health-care premiums
and increasing the various fees that Albertans pay for government services.
But any serious new revenue will have to come from tax increases:
either corporate income tax (CIT); personal income tax (PIT); or a new provincial sales tax (PST).

Trickle down Tory economics led to piss raining down from the oil companies unto heads of working class Albertans.
The oil companies don't want environmental regulations and sharing of profits. The gov't coffers are bare. Time for the oil companies to pay the piper.
