Viv Over powers the W's at the crease and in the record books.
but what to do with Kanhai. Kanhai is a better batsman than Shive..far, far better. but shive has the stats.
the W's were very, very, very good batsmen froma technical stanpoint..especially Worrell and Walcott. come to think of it Weekes too. and these 3 had to deal flush with the racism in west indies cricket that precipitated early retirement from Weekes and Walcott

the pace is an enormous job......
Marshall appears to head the list...
but what to do about Holding, Roberts, Garner, Hall, Croft, Ambrose,Walsh...mentions of Griffith...and going back to the old,old days..John, Francis, Trim, Griffith....

for me there with the keepers Jackie Hendricks was the best..period. magic behind the stumps to all kinds of bowling..no matter what.
Hendricks was the most efficient of all keepers..certainly among west indian keepers. west indies could face 6-7 hundred runs... no matter. no extras!
Dujon was a lucky batsman who could keep to pace, and found himself in the right place at the right time. if all was well with David Murray Dujon would not have had a career. Murray was much better.

despite his triples, and his lone hand at the top of the west indian order during his career it is hard for me to go with Gayle over Haynes....
Haynes was a supreme opener..skilled in all aspects of that trade by the time he was done. Gayle has a massive pair of eyes that allowed him to overcome his technical difficulties..difficulties that Hayes did not have to start with and still honed as he went.
tuff choice but I will go with Hayes and Greenidge
