Dhoni is a phenomenon in a country like India which has a booming economy and a complete obsession with the sport of cricket. I mean, we have no other sport in the country that even comes close to the following cricket has. Also, he is a rags to riches story..sort of like a self educated cricketer from a small town who fought the adds and rose to conquer the world! That sells.
