Great player indeed.
I remember an interview with Aravinda Da Silva after the 1996 WC where he was asked who were the young players in SL capable of taking his place as the side's leading batsmen and he mentioned the teenager Mahela Jayawardene.
Aravinda clearly knew what he was talking about. 8)
