Neither the English press nor the public, of which I am part, condoned Broad's behaviour so please refrain from making such inaccuracies.
The wider issue raised was the manner in which any batsman of any tribe could stand their ground pending the umpires' decision without any suggestion of breach of the spirit of the game compared to fielders.
I urge you structure your discourse so not to confuse all of history with the behaviour of individuals.
It is not a matter of Vivian haters rather the incident was pure intimidation and Barker duly obliged.
Today Vivian would be in a degree of trouble with the Referee and the decision would have been reversed. That decision effectively ended Bailey's career and as you know he is now an umpire.
We all make mistakes but Vivian's behaviour was one of pure intimidation of his fellow West Indian and irrespective of whatever irrelevant comparisons you wish to raise, to condone that incident is unreasonable.
I am not sure of the relevance of Vivian's cheating to subservience to anyone. Can you clarify that?
I would think Sir Frank by his gravitas did more to redress a God given balance.
To be taken seriously one needs to be objective and I fear you are muddling issues and unfortunately manage to make a joke of whatever legitimate points you may otherwise have.
