THey view the caribbean as a place to go for a vacation and the beach and as a third world poverty stricken area. They see west indians as people who love to party.

So do you see tourism as a negative?

Many churches in the United States send their young people on “mission trips” to Caribbean nations (Belize, Haiti, etc.) to build homes, churches, and spread Christianity. What do you think of this? Is it helpful? Do Caribbean nations “need” this sort of help?

Re: Help With An Interview - ketchim - 07-24-2013

That's a good point - there's no set definition. There are geographic definitions which would mean strictly any nation bordering the Caribbean Sea. Then there are colonial definitions. Does CARICOM membership make a nation Caribbean? I don't know. I don't think there is one way of defining what Caribbean means.
